I’m Verónica Adriana Krivohlavy, a visual artist from Mar del Plata, Argentina.
My path in art is deeply tied to transformation, to emotions, and to the possibility of turning experiences, memories and personal processes into a work of art.
I work mainly in mixed media, combining acrylics, textures, natural elements and reused materials. I like to incorporate branches, stones, buttons, bottle caps, corks, flowers and other objects that take on a new meaning once they become part of a work.
Each piece is born from an emotion, an idea or a story. I’m not only seeking to create an image, but to build a work with identity, movement and meaning.
The hummingbird is part of my visual universe and appears in different ways throughout my work, as a symbol of movement, transformation and freedom.
My work is constantly evolving, but one thing remains: the desire to create from what is authentic and to turn what I’ve lived into art.
Paintings I made as a child, which my mother still keeps.
You deserve what you dream of.

My artistic language
Matter, symbol and color
My work unfolds mainly through mixed media, combining acrylic paint with textures, natural elements and reused materials.
I use rigid supports, handmade canvases and reclaimed wood, and I often incorporate elements such as branches, stones, buttons, bottle caps, corks, shells, flowers and other objects that become part of the composition.
I want every material to have a purpose within the work. I don’t add them merely as decoration: I want them to carry the story, the emotion or the concept I wish to convey.
Hummingbirds, spirals, butterflies, branches, the sea, female figures and nature appear again and again in my visual universe.
My palette tends to move through aqua greens, turquoises, earth tones, oranges and soft hues, though each work finds its own language.
Each piece is unique and handmade, so that paint, materials and meaning can live together in a single story.

A handmade, sustainable process
01
Preparing the support
All the supports I use (polystyrene board, wood and handmade canvas) are prepared beforehand with several coats of gesso before I start painting.
Handmade canvases are always prepared this way, to work the surface and give it the finish I am looking for.
02
Hanging system
All my works have a hanging system made with recycled bottle caps, adapted and worked to serve a practical function within the piece.
This resource is part of my artistic identity and of my way of reusing everyday materials, giving them a new use without losing the handmade character of each work.
More than a technical detail, the hanging system made with recycled bottle caps is also a small extension of the VeroKriarte / Krivah philosophy: transform, reuse and create with meaning.
I deliver my works with their certificate of authenticity.
Works
Original art · One-of-a-kind pieces
My works are organized into three collections, by support: handmade canvas, reclaimed wood and polystyrene board. Pick one to browse it. Each piece is one of a kind and handmade; to ask about price and availability, I’ll reply on WhatsApp.
Works on a rigid support with handmade canvas. Canvases are always prepared with several coats of gesso, to work the surface and give it the finish I am looking for.
There are no works marked as available in this collection right now. You can ask me about any of them or about a commissioned work.
Works on polystyrene board
These works are made on a polystyrene board support, prepared beforehand with several coats of gesso.
Each composition is drawn entirely by hand and painted with acrylics. Depending on the work, I add natural elements and different appliqués that become part of the composition and bring texture, volume and meaning.
The final finish can be matte lacquer or polyurethane varnish, depending on the characteristics and needs of each piece.
Every work keeps the handmade character of VeroKriarte / Krivah, from the preparation of the support to the final details.
To introduce this section, I would like to begin with two works that speak especially of my artistic identity, because they reflect elements, symbols and resources that run through much of my work.
Flight · the work I started the project with
Action with Soul · the work with which I gave my name to my works
On polystyrene board I started with simple designs of stones and branches, and over time the works became more complex. These simpler, handcrafted pieces are still available because people loved them: they are souvenirs, decorative objects and special personalized orders. Since the branches and stones are natural, no two are identical, but if you like one I can make one very similar.
They are delivered with a lovely presentation, but without a certificate: I keep the certificate of authenticity for the more complex works and those shown in exhibitions.
There are no works marked as available in this collection right now. You can ask me about any of them or about a commissioned work.

Do the works come with a certificate?

The handcrafted polystyrene pieces (souvenirs, decoration and personalized orders) are delivered with a lovely presentation, without a certificate.
